Frequently asked
Your questions, gently answered.
We’d love you to walk in feeling completely at ease, so please ask us anything at all. These are the questions our guests ask us most, with the same warm answers we’d give you in person.
Where & when
- Where is the studio?
- The studio is located in South Brisbane, approximately 5 kilometres from the Brisbane CBD. The exact street address is provided in your booking confirmation email, as we do not publish it publicly in order to maintain a calm, quiet environment for the puppies. If you book and find the location is further away than expected, you may cancel for a full refund up to 24 hours before your session.
- Do you have a studio in Sydney, Melbourne, or another city?
- We have just the one. Furever Yoga is here in Brisbane and nowhere else. So if you’ve come across the name in another city, we’re so sorry, but that’s not us.
- What classes do you offer?
- We offer Restorative Yoga, Yin Yoga, and Meditation and Breathwork, along with Sound Healing versions of our Restorative Yoga, Yin Yoga, and Meditation sessions. Every class shares the floor with our Bernedoodle and Groodle puppies from six to seven weeks of age. Our schedule page shows what is on each week.
- Whose puppies are they, exactly?
- Ours. Furever Yoga is the brainchild of Brisbane Bernedoodles and Groodles Australia. The puppies you meet on the day are all from Brisbane Bernedoodles and Groodles, and each puppy participates in two to three sessions during their time with us. We also incorporate these experiences into our puppy socialisation program, as we believe these gentle interactions play an important role in building confident, calm, and people-focused puppies within our breeding program.
The class itself
- Do I need any yoga experience?
- Not at all. Most of our first-timers have never been to a class before, and you’re so welcome here. Every pose has a gentle version you can do lying down, on a chair, or simply by watching and breathing along. We teach softly, at a pace that suits whoever needs the most ease in the room, and there’s no one watching or judging.
- Are the puppies there the whole time?
- The puppies are with us in the room for the whole class, though they’re not on the mats the entire time. The first ten to fifteen minutes are quiet and instructor-led, while the puppies settle nearby with our welfare team. A handler then gently opens the rest-zone gate and the puppies join the floor at their own pace. The last part of the class is lovely open floor time before they’re escorted back to rest, and then you have a further thirty minutes after class for photos, refreshments, and unhurried time with them.
- Will I actually get to pat them?
- Yes. During each of our sessions, the puppies wander freely throughout the room, moving from person to person. You are absolutely welcome to pat, cuddle, and gently interact with the puppies throughout the session. Some puppies may choose to curl up beside you or even fall asleep on you during the class. There is also additional time after each session for photographs, cuddles, and relaxed puppy interaction.
- What if I have limited mobility, or sore knees, hips, or balance?
- Our classes are floor-based, but every pose has a chair-supported or wall-supported version, and you’re very welcome to stay seated for the whole class if that feels best. We can happily set a chair up for you, and our Yin Yoga and Meditation sessions are the gentlest fit if getting up and down from the floor is a challenge. Please do let us know at booking if there’s anything specific, so your instructor can plan the class with you in mind and set you up beside the mat shelf so transitions are easier.
- Is the studio wheelchair-accessible?
- Partially, and we’d love to be honest with you about what that means. There’s one shallow step at the entry, which we can fit a portable ramp to with a few hours’ notice, and the floor inside is timber with no further steps. Our bathroom is small and not yet fully accessible. Your support worker is very welcome to join you in the room, and our Meditation and Restorative Yoga sessions are the most comfortable fit from a chair or wheelchair. If you have access needs, please email us at info@fureveryoga.com.au before booking and we’ll gladly talk you through what’s realistic so you feel looked after, and so your instructor can plan the session in advance.
- What's the rule on photos for me as a customer?
- It’s very important to us that all phones are placed on silent during our sessions, and we kindly ask guests to leave their phones to the side throughout the class so everyone can fully relax and enjoy the experience. There is plenty of time afterwards to take photographs with the puppies, enjoy cuddles, and capture special moments once the session has finished.
- What happens when a puppy has an accident?
- During our therapy sessions, puppies may occasionally need a toilet break, and as they are still very young, they are still learning where to go. Our handlers and welfare team are always present throughout the sessions and will quickly attend to any accidents using F10 veterinary-grade sanitiser, ensuring the room remains clean, fresh, and sanitised throughout the day.
- What do I bring?
- Please bring yourself, a bottle of water, and comfortable clothes. There is no need to bring a yoga mat, as we provide yoga mats for all guests. Light refreshments are also included after each of our therapy sessions. We do ask that phones are kept on silent throughout the session, and no flash photography is permitted.
- How early should I arrive?
- Please arrive 10 minutes prior to your therapy session so you can get comfortable, find your yoga mat, and settle into your position in the room before the session begins.
Before you come
- Is it alright to wear fragrance, perfume, or scented sunscreen?
- We kindly ask that you come along unscented. Puppies have roughly ten thousand times the sense of smell that we do, so a heavily perfumed room can feel quite overwhelming for them. Deodorant is perfectly fine; we’d just gently ask you to skip perfume, cologne, scented essential-oil rollers, and freshly applied scented sunscreens for the morning, so the puppies stay relaxed.
- Is there anything to know about footwear?
- We kindly ask that shoes come off at the entry and rest on the rack provided. We disinfect the floor between every class with a puppy-safe product (F10 SC), and keeping street shoes out of the room is simply the gentlest way to keep things safe for the puppies.
- Should I think about jewellery, long nails, or sharp rings?
- We’d gently ask you to skip long rings, dangly earrings a curious puppy might grab at, and freshly pointed acrylics. It’s nothing we check at the door. It simply helps make sure a playful puppy is never accidentally pricked or scratched.
- What cleaning products do you use?
- We use F10 SC veterinary-grade disinfectant on the floor between every class, a gentle mat-safe wash on the mats daily, and we quarantine soft toys for 48 hours between uses, all of it puppy-safe. If you have a known sensitivity to any disinfectant, we kindly ask that you mention it at booking so we can look after you properly.
Safety & health
- I have allergies (dogs, dust, fragrance). Can I still come?
- Yes, you can still attend our therapy sessions with our puppies. The puppies within our breeding program, and the puppies attending Furever Yoga, are all furnished puppies. This means their coats are low-shedding, which helps reduce the spread of dander. Please keep in mind that this does not guarantee that an allergic reaction will not occur. If you do have allergies, we kindly ask that you let us know prior to booking your therapy session so we can best assist you.
- I'm pregnant, can I attend?
- We’d love to have you, and we kindly ask that you check with your GP or midwife first. Floor-based movement is generally fine in the second trimester, while first-trimester nausea and late-trimester balance are gently a matter for you and your care team. The waiver simply asks you to confirm you’ve been cleared to take part if you’re pregnant. Please also let us know at booking so your instructor knows in advance and can plan supported variations for you. We have bolsters and blocks on hand, so you’re very welcome to come along and stay reclined and comfortable for the whole class.
- Can I catch anything from the puppies (or pass anything to them)?
- It’s very unlikely, and we look after it carefully in both directions. All puppies on our roster are fully C5-vaccinated and on a current worming and parasite-prevention schedule. Guests wash their hands on arrival, leave street shoes at the door, and we kindly ask that you don’t handle a puppy if you have a cut or open graze on your hands. The small remaining risks are everyday intestinal bugs like giardia, which are rare in a vaccinated, worm-treated litter, and a quick hand-wash keeps everyone safe and well.
- What happens if I break a welfare rule?
- Please keep in mind that all of our welfare rules are in place for the safety and wellbeing of our puppies. You are more than welcome to gently pick up a puppy and place them on your lap while seated, whether on the floor or in a wheelchair, during any of our therapy sessions. However, guests must never stand or walk while holding a puppy. All puppy handling and interactions must remain at seated height at all times to ensure the puppies stay safe and comfortable throughout the session.
Booking and payment
- How do I book?
- You can book right here through the schedule page on this site, with secure online checkout via Stripe (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Apple Pay, and Google Pay). You’re also very welcome to book as a guest without creating an account.
- What's the minimum age?
- Fourteen, when accompanied by a participating adult who has signed the waiver on their behalf. Guests sixteen and over are very welcome to book and attend on their own. And to be sure everyone is looked after, we never publish images of under-16s, even where the rest of the family has opted in to the photo release.
- Can I book for someone else?
- Absolutely, and we’d love that. Just pick how many seats you’d like when you book, pay in one transaction, and add each guest’s name and mobile straight after payment. Each person then receives a one-time link to sign their own quick waiver before class. It simply means everyone’s looked after before they arrive.
- Can I cancel?
- Yes, of course, free of charge up to twenty-four hours before class, with the full detail on our /refund-policy page. Within the twenty-four-hour window we gently hold the spot for you and don’t on-sell the seat.
- What if you cancel the class for puppy welfare or weather?
- You get a full refund to your original payment method, plus a free credit for a future class valid for twelve months. Looking after the puppies always comes first, and the cost of doing that is ours, never yours. The refund reaches your statement within five business days.
- Do you do gift vouchers or class packs?
- We do, and they make such a lovely gift. You’ll find gift cards and 5/10/20-class packs on our /gift-cards and /packs pages, and our monthly and annual memberships on the /memberships page.
- Can I pay at the door?
- For our public classes, your spot is reserved when you book online, so there’s nothing to pay at the door. For private hire or corporate groups we’re happy to arrange things with you directly. Just reach out via the contact page.
The puppies
- Where do the puppies come from?
- The puppies who attend Furever Yoga are exclusive to the breeding program of Brisbane Bernedoodles and Groodles Australia. They include both Groodles and Bernedoodles across all generations, from F1 through to multi-generational lines. Our puppies have been carefully and thoughtfully bred to refine both their temperament and features. Brisbane Bernedoodles and Groodles Australia is known for producing exceptionally beautiful puppies with balanced temperaments, sociable natures, and medium energy levels, making them wonderfully suited to these therapy-style experiences.
- How long do puppies stay in the studio?
- Our puppies attend the studio for the day and partake in at most two to three sessions, with 45-minute to one-hour breaks in between each session. At no time are the puppies required to do anything other than be themselves and enjoy the environment they are in. Puppies are free to sleep whenever they choose, rest between sessions, and interact naturally with our guests whenever they feel comfortable doing so.
- Can I bring my own dog?
- The short answer is no. For the welfare and safety of our puppies, who still have limited immunity at this stage in their lives, we must keep the studio environment safe from outside dogs. This is especially important in protecting the puppies from potential illnesses and viruses, including parvovirus and distemper, which can be carried even by seemingly healthy dogs.
- What if a puppy seems stressed?
- If a puppy appears stressed at any point during a session, they are removed from the floor immediately. Our welfare handlers continuously monitor the puppies for any signs of stress or overstimulation, and if a puppy appears uncomfortable, they are placed into a quiet rest area for the remainder of the session so they can relax comfortably.
- Do you ever cancel a class for the puppies' sake?
- Yes, and we always will, without hesitation. If the air conditioning fails on a Brisbane summer day, a puppy is unwell, or the forecast climbs above thirty-two degrees, we’ll gently call the class off. You’ll receive a full refund plus a credit for a future class, and covering that cost ourselves is simply part of looking after the puppies the right way.
